Categories allow viewers to quickly identify the type of event. Viewers will also be able to filter events by category to quickly find events. Your event will have a tag added to it with visible text that shows the name of the categories selected.
The price of a premium event is determined by the category, and a higher priced category will go to more sites (the number of sites will be shown at checkout).
Our categories fall into 5 tiers. These tiers determine the price of any event promotions using our service. You can select up to 3 categories for an event, and we will select the highest price plan from among the three categories you select.
Primary Category
You are required to pick one primary category for your event. You need to only pick one category to post your event. Typing the name of the category you are looking for will cause any available related option to appear. Simply select the best option from the list to set the category for your event. Not sure what options are available, check the bottom of this article for the full list of available categories.
Additional Categories
Most submissions will only need to pick one primary category. The benefit of picking additional categories is related to our paid premium options. For premium events, we will select some of the additional listing sites for your event based on all 3 suggested categories. We will also use additional categories to determine what interest lists will be used when sending a targeted premium email for your event. Learn more about premium emails here: How It Works - Promote your event via email #EmailEvvnt.
Pricing Levels
We set the price of your premium upgrade based on the selected category, and this will be reflected when you check out. If you select more than one category then we will use the highest priced category to set the price of your premium event. If you are already on a package we will show you only the categories that are within your package level and all tiers below, if you do not see the category you need and it's in a higher package then you will need to add an additional package to use that higher priced category.
Selecting Categories
When selecting your categories we look to match your typed suggestion with the categories available. If you no category is available, you will be presented with the option to view the full event category tree to search and find the best option.
You can search and review all categories manually from 'Browse Full Category Tree'. See the full list below or browse by plan using the tabs at the bottom of the below frame. You can also download the full list here.
