Overview
A premium event upgrade sends your event information to dozens of online calendars — both local Evvnt-powered calendars in your area and national event sites — to significantly expand your event's reach and improve its visibility in search results. You can purchase a single event upgrade or buy credits in bulk if you have several events throughout the year.
This article covers how premium syndication works, how categories and tiers connect to your promotion, how to read your event report, and how credits and packages work.
For a broader view of everything you can do as a promoter, see Promoting Events with Evvnt.
What Premium Syndication Does
When you upgrade an event to premium, Evvnt immediately places your event on all local calendars in our network that serve your area. Over the following days, your event is also submitted to additional national and global event sites to increase its presence across the internet. The result is broader visibility — your event appears in more search results and on more calendars than a free listing.
You can always post your event for free to a single calendar. The premium upgrade is an optional step available during submission or at any time afterward from your event dashboard.
Categories and Syndication Tiers
When you select categories for your event — such as Music, Food & Drink, Business, or Fundraiser — each category belongs to a syndication tier. The tier name (such as Community, Lifestyle, or Entertainment) is displayed alongside the category during selection.
Each tier is designed to reach the audience most relevant to that type of event. Community-tier events are distributed to local community calendars and neighborhood sites. Lifestyle-tier events reach publications focused on things to do, dining, and culture. Entertainment-tier events are syndicated to music, nightlife, and arts-focused sites.
The goal when choosing categories is to match your event to the right audience, not just to label it. The categories you select shape where your event appears and who sees it.
Choosing and Changing Categories
You can select one or more categories during event creation. Adding additional categories may change the tier your event falls into — if you add a category from a different tier, the promotion will reflect the broader reach. You can see which tier applies as you make your selections.
If you need to change your categories after submission, edit your event from the dashboard (see Managing Your Events). Changing categories may affect which tier your event is promoted under.
Viewing Available Calendars
During the upgrade step at checkout, you can see the full list of calendars and sites where your event will be placed. This list is based on your event's location and categories, so it reflects the actual destinations for your specific event.
Your Event Report
After upgrading, your event report tracks the progress of your syndication. The report is available from your event dashboard — click on the event title to open its Manage page, then view the report.
The report includes a Publisher Breakdown showing each calendar and site your event was submitted to, along with a Status column that tells you whether the listing is live, pending, or processing. This gives you a clear picture of where your event has been placed and how far the syndication has progressed.
Finding Your Event Link
If your event was submitted successfully, you will receive an email with a link to your event report. From the report, you can find direct links to your event on each calendar where it has been posted.
Credits and Packages
You can purchase premium upgrades in several ways:
- Single credit upgrades — Purchase a one-time credit to upgrade a specific event during or after submission.
- Credit packages and subscriptions — Buy multiple credits in advance at a bundled rate. Each credit can be applied to one event. This is useful if you promote events regularly throughout the year.
Note: Each premium credit is associated with the account that purchased it. If you buy a credit on one account, it cannot be used from a different account.
