Evvnt takes your submission and sends it to a calendar based on these factors:
- The user submitting the event
- The page from which it is submitted
- The location of the event
Any user of the Evvnt service can post for free to any calendar site that is "powered by Evvnt". This is done by starting at the site's calendar page and selecting the "Promote Your Event" button.
Posting to an Evvnt calendar
Navigate to your local media publication and you will likely find that the local events calendar is "powered by Evvnt". Clicking on "Promote Your Event" will ask you the basic details about your event. Then you will be presented with three options:
- Upgrade your single event to be a Premium Event
- Start a monthly subscription to post 4 or more Premium events each month
- Continue for free
You may need to scroll down to view the option to continue for Free. Check out this article for complete instructions on how to submit your event.
You can post your event once to any calendar in our system for free. Attempting to post the same event to a different Evvnt calendar site will result in your post being blocked as a duplicate. Our system is designed to have one high-quality listing for your event that can then be sent immediately to other sites in our system that will accept your event based on its location and category.
You may be used to posting your event over and over to different sites for free. Local media sites are a great resource for online event creators, but these publications have been missing out on advertising revenue because they have offered this valuable service for free. Remember, you can still post once to any calendar for free.
Our service helps local media publications collect payment when you want to post to multiple calendars. In return, you no longer need to input your event information over and over to dozens of different sites. With Evvnt, you post it once and upgrade to a Premium Event to take advantage of the network of calendars that have adopted our powerful event marketing service.
Location Related Issues
In some cases, the calendar site you are posting to does not accept events from the location that you entered for your event. More info here: Event Location Warning.
Your Evvnt Dashboard
When you create your first event at an Evvnt calendar you will have an Evvnt user created. Check for the welcome email and follow the prompts to login at app.evvnt.com.
An event creator (user) is owned by the calendar site that the user used to create their first event in our system. If a user logs in, they will always see the logo and color theme for the site that owns the user. If a user adds an event from their dashboard, the event will try to be sent to the site that owns your user. However, a user can post to a calendar other than that site which owns the user. See here about posting to a different publication.
Scenario 1: Your user is owned by Site A, you go to the calendar page for Site A or login at app.evvnt.com to post an event. Your event location is within the area set for Site A so your event is posted on Site A.
Scenario 2: Your user is owned by Site A, you go to the calendar page for Site A or login at app.evvnt.com to post an event. When you enter the location of the event, you see a notice that your event will not appear on Site A. When you submit your event for free, you will see that your event will be posted to the Evvnt calendar.
Scenario 3: Your user is owned by Site A, you go to a calendar at Site B and click "promote your event". Your event is located in the area for Site B so your event will be posted on Site B.
Scenario 4: Your user is owned by Site A, you go to a calendar at Site B and click "promote your event". When you enter the location of the event, you see a notice that your event will not appear on Site B. When you submit your event for free, you will see that your event will be posted to the Evvnt calendar.
If your location is not being included for a site that you think should be covering your area, you will want to reach out to the editors of that publication and ask that they update their Evvnt calendar publishing settings to include your location. Alternatively, you can upgrade your event to a premium event and we will immediately post your event to any Evvnt calendar that includes your location!
