Understanding Ticket Fees
Ticket fees are charged on each paid ticket sold through the platform. There are no fees on free or comped tickets.
What fees are charged on online ticket sales?
Each paid ticket sold online includes a service fee and a merchant processing fee. The service fee is 4% of the ticket price plus $1.50 per ticket, capped at $20. The merchant fee is a percentage of the combined ticket price and service fee.
For example, on a $20 ticket: the service fee is $2.30, and the merchant fee is calculated as a percentage of $22.30. The total fee to the buyer would be $2.30 plus the merchant fee.
What about ticket packages?
The fee on a package is the sum of the fees on each individual ticket in the package, calculated against the per-ticket price. A $200 package of 4 tickets is treated as 4 × $50 tickets for fee purposes.
What if I absorb the fees?
When you choose to absorb fees, the buyer pays only the ticket price. The service fee and merchant fee are deducted from your payout. For example, on a $20 ticket with absorbed fees, the buyer pays $20 and you receive $20 minus the calculated fees.
What are the fees for box office sales?
Tickets sold through the admin pages or mobile app have a flat fee of $1.00 per ticket. If the buyer pays by credit card, a merchant processing fee is also added as a percentage of the ticket price plus the $1.00 fee.
If the buyer pays with cash or check, the only fee is the $1.00 per ticket. When the ticket is paid with cash or check, the fee will be collected via a deduction from your next revenue payout.
Are there fees on non-ticket items?
There is no service fee on non-ticket items such as memberships, gift cards, and donations. A merchant processing fee is deducted from the amount before it is paid out to cover the cost of the credit card transaction.
Are there fees on merchandise?
Merchandise fees are 2% of the product price plus $0.30 per item, plus a merchant processing fee. All fees are included in the price you set so the buyer pays that price plus any applicable sales tax, and fees for the transaction are deducted from the paid amount before it is paid out.
