The option to duplicate a past event is not always available. If it is, you will see the "Duplicate" option when you click the '3-dots' menu on the event next to the "Edit" option under the title.
An event cannot be duplicated if it is an ongoing or recurring event. Only a single instance event can be copied. The event cannot include outdated features that are no longer supported as this will also block duplication (potential issue for events created more than a year ago). Additionally, the user needs acting as the organization that owns the event to use the duplication feature.
Check your event settings after it is duplicated!
Please review your event after it is duplicated to ensure that all settings and text are still relevant to the new version of the event. Here is a list of features that will not carry over to a new duplicate event:
- Event contacts
- Some "Additional fees" settings
- Registration from restrictions to specific tickets
- Early access code will lost connections to specific tickets
- The ticket description will be set to not show on e-tickets
- When duplicating an event in Evvnt, ticket settings that include specific start and end dates will be converted into relative time periods ("times before start") based on the new event's start time. For example, if a ticket was originally set to go on sale on March 1 at noon for an event that starts on March 8 at 7 PM, the duplicated event would set the ticket to go on sale 7 days and 7 hours before the new event start time—maintaining the same relative timing from the original event.
